Found in eastern Madagascar in shady spots in forests at eleavtions of 400 to 800 meters as a medium sized, warm growing terrestrial with a stem carrying 4 to 5 linear-lanceolate to linear, acute leaves the superior slightly longer than the bracts that blooms in the later spring on an erect, to 8" [20 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate-linear, acute, longer than the flowers floral bracts carrying yellowish flowers
