Found in Rio de Janiero and Espirito Santo states of Brazil in montane rainforests at elevations of 800 to 1000 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with conical-tetragon, slightly compressed pseudobulbs carrying a single, plicate, oblanceolate, acuminate leaf that blooms in the spring on a basal, 2.4" [6 cm] long, rigid, 2 to 3 flowered inflorescence enveloped by amplexicaul bracts and obovate-lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts and carries fragrant flowers.
