Found in Brazil, Uruguay and northeasten Argentina in humid lowland rocky grasslands and riversides as a miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial or lithophyte with ovate-lanceolate, acute, basally clasping leaves that are not present at flowering, blooming in the spring on an erect, short, single flowered inflorescence.
