Found in Rio de Janiero state of Brazil in the Atlantic rainforest at elevations around 1500 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with oblong, laterally compressed pseudobulbs with persistent leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying 2, apical, green, herbaceous, lanceolate, slightly recurved, acute, attenuate basally leaves that blooms in the spring on a racemose, basal, thin, to 8" [20 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence carrying simultaneously opening flowers.
