Found in Jalisco and Michoacan states of Mexico on rocky and grassy hillsides in open oak forests at elevations of 1500 to 2000 meters as a small to medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with fusiform, horizontal pseudobulbs giving rise to an erect, linear leaf that blooms in the summer on an erect, few flowered inflorescnece carrying flowers that never open fully.
