Common Name The Lilac Bletia
Flower Size .8 to .92" [2 to 2.3 cm]
Found in western Mexico in ine/oak at elevations of 2000 to 2300 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with ovoid corms giving rise to 1 or 2, plicate, green, deciduous, not present at blooming leaves that blooms in the winter on an erect, peduncle to 10" [26 cm] long, with several, tubular, clasping bracts below the middle, 12" [30 cm] long ovedrall, 4 to 7 flowered inflorescence.
