Common Name The Large Ridged Lip Bletia [refers to the comb-like ridges on the lip]

Flower Size

Found in Mexico at times occuring in lava fields or open deciduous forests in clumps of coarse grass in well drained loamy soils at elevations of 1000 to 2000 meters as a medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with brownish green corms carrying a few plicate, narrowly oblong-elliptic leaves that blooms in the spring on a to 3' [90 cm] long, few flowered inflorescence.
