Common Name The Restrepia-Like Brachionidium
Flower Size .4" [1 cm]
Found in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janiero states of southern Brazil at elevations of 800 to 1300 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a short stem enveloped completely by imbricating, scarious sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic, acute, gradually narrowing below into the conduplicate base leaf that blooms fall and winter on an erect, slender, arising from near the apex of the ramicaul with a bract near the middle and at the base, 1.2 to 1.4" [3 to 3.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with an infundibular, mucronate, as long as the ovary floral bract.
