Found in Oxapampa Province of Peru in primary cloud forests at elevations around 2900 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with a repent rhizome giving rise to erect, short ramicauls enveloped by 2 sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, linear-elliptic, acute, abruptly narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late spring on an erect, short, to 1" [2.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with as long as the ovary floral bract.
