Flower Size .8" [2 cm]

Found in Nigeria, Guinea, Gabon, Congo, Zaire, Zambia and Transvaal South Africa as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with an erect, sl;ender to fairly robust stem carrying cauline, densely imbricate, rarely lax, lanceolate to narrowly ovate, acute to acuminate, glabrous leaves that blooms in the summer and earlier fall on an erect, to 6" [15 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence.

CAUTION! The photo above is of the subspecies transvaalensis occuring only in South Africa, to date I have not come across the type or the other subspecies var longilabris both of which occur in tropical Africa.
