Found in southern Yunnan province of China and Myanmar on grassy slopes or along ravines in mixed forests at elevations of 700 to 1800 meters as a small to medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with ellipsoid to oblong tubers giving rise to an erect, sheathed in the lower half, leafy in the upper stem carrying a 4 to 5, elliptic to narrowly elliptic-lanceolate, gradually narrowing below leaf that blooms in the later summer and early fall on a terminal, erect, laxly 4 to 12 flowered inflorescence with leaf-like, longer than the flowers bracts
