Found in Sierra Leone, Togo, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Nigeria and Guinea in primary forests at elevations below 300 meters as a miniature sized, hot growing leafless terresrial with large tuberous roots giving rise to an erect, glabrous stem enveloped completely by membraneous, acute, sheaths that blooms in the winter carrying 1 to 3, apical flowers with acute, as long as the ovary floral bracts.
