Found in Peru, Chile and Argentina at elevations of 20 to 900 meters as a small to medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with basal, erect-patent, linear-acute, narrowing below into the base leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, 1.4 to 1.6" [3.5 to 4 cm] long, pubescent, densely many flowered, racemose, cylindrical inflorescence with sucessively opening, fragrant flowers

In Chile the people use this plant as a diuretic. As to how I do not know.
