Found in Sulawesi at elevations of 1800 to 2000 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte on trunks and branches with elliptical, lightly longitudinally sulcate pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptical, acute, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, thin petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring and summer on a synanthous, arising with the almost newly developed leaf, erect, thin then arching to pendant, 10" [25 cm] long, 8 to 40 flowered, racemose inflorescence
