Found in Sarawak and Sabah Borneo in mossy lower montane forests at elevations of 1200 to 1700 meters as a medium sized, cool growing, trunk epiphyte with a stem completely enveloped by leaf sheaths and carrying linear, laterally flattened to terete, straight to slightly curved leaves that blooms fall and winter on an unbranched to 7 branched, terminal, to 25 flowered inflorescence with imbricating bracts from which the successively single flowers emerge.
