Common Name The Near Kinsman Bulbophyllum [Refers in greek to being closely related to Bulbophyllum macrobulbon]
Found in Papua New Guinea as a small sized, warm to cool growing, unifoliate epiphyte at elevations around 820 to 1560 meters with a creeping rhizome with .6" [1.5 cm] between each subglobose,rugose pseuobulbs and carrying a single, apical, erect, oblong-obtuse, subsessile leaf that blooms in the fall, winter and spring on a very short, peduncle.8" [2 cm] long, fasiculate, 2 flowered inflorescence with overlapping, ovate-cucullate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrrying the very fleshy flowers below the leaves up against the pseudobulb.
