Found in Laos and Thailand at elevations around 1300 to 1700 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte that has 4 angled pseudobulbs, the newer with sheaths covering the base to the leaf stem, carrying a single, apical, strong-veined, short-stalked, elliptical, leathery leaf that blooms in the summer on a basal, 2 3/4" [7 cm] long inflorescence with a floral bract that begins to cover a dense head of simultaneously opening, short-lived [3 days] flowers held at mid-leaf height.
