Common Name Gunter's Bulbophyllum [German Botanist and collector of the type curent]

Flower Size .2" x .3" [5 x 7.5 mm] wide x long

Found in Papua New Guinea without habitat and elevational data as a miniature to small sized, probably warm growing epiphyte with .6" to 1.6" [1.5 to 4 cm] between each distinct, loosely clustered to shortly creeping, obliquely erect, ovoid pseudobulb with age wrinkling along numerous longitudinal lines and carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic-oblong to obovate-oblong, acute to acuminate, petiolate base leaf that blooms on 1 to a fascile of many, basal, peduncle .52 to 1.2" [1.3 to 3 cm] long, provided with 4 to 5 scales, 1.2 to 2.8" [3 to 7 cm] long overall, single flowered inflorescence with much shorter than the the ovary floral bracts.

Most similar to B phaeoglossum which does not have ciliolate lip margins. Also similar to B pterodon but it differs in having the petals more than half as long as the median sepal and by the presence of a distinct, obtuse wing along the upper margin of the stelida.
