Found in Papua New Guinea in rainforests at elevations of 1000 to 3300 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with ovoid, close set pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptic to obovate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring and fall on a basal, 1.6 to 3.4" [4.5 to 8 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with tubular, acute to acuminate floral bracts.
