Common Name or Meaning Oersted's Bulbophyllum [Danish botanist and orchid collector in Central America 1800's]
Flower Size
Found in Florida, Mexico, Belize, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, southern Venezuela, Guyana, Fr Guinea and northern Brazil at elevations of 50 to 500 [1200] meters as a miniature to small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with close-set, ovoid, tetragon, each face concave sided pseudobulbs and carries a 2, apical, erect, coriaceous narrowly ovate, obtuse, constricted below in tothe short petiolate base leaf that blooms on a basal, erect, peduncle to 3.2" [8 cm] long, rachis 6.8 to 12.8" [17 to 32 cm] long, successively few, several to many flowered, racemose inflorescence with elongate floral bracts that partly envelop the flower.
