Found in Taiwan at elevations of 1500 to 2500 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing, unifoliate epiphyte that requires semi-shade and has close set, ovoid pseudobulbs and a single apical, elongate oblong, obtuse to acute, contracted into the shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on a 2.8" [7 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence enveloped by widely cupped sheaths.

Cited as a synonym of Bulbophyllum pectinatum, visually they are very similar.
