Found in Kerala India as a mini-miniature sized epiphyte with ovoid pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptic, obtuse leaf that blooms in the summer on an erect, 4" [10 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence and carries fruity scented flowers.

Hook. of Burma and Thailand but different in having erect non-geotropic leaves, truncate-angulate, acute dorsal sepal, broad-based, oblique falcate-striate petals and yellow lip with brown papillae throughout except the median furrow. The pleasant fruity smell of this species is very characteristic.
