Found in Vietnam in dry broad-leaved evergreen and semideciduous forests and woodlands o at elevations of 600 to 1000 meters as a small sized, creeping, warm growing epiphyte with a creeping, rigid, semi-woody rhizome with 2 to 3.6" [5 to 9 cm] between each pale dull yellowish-green to olive brownish often with a purple brown tint, narrowly conical, glossy pseudobulbs carrying a sinfgle, apical, erect, broadly lanceolate, apically obtuse, narrowing below into the terete, shallowly grooved petiolate base leaf that blooms in the later fall on an basal, peduncle erect to horizontal, 4.8 to 8.8" [12 to 22 cm] long, yellowish pink to dull brownish purple, wit 3 to 6, sterile, broadly ovate, obtuse, pinkish brown, more or less distant bracts, rachis pendulous-drooping, 2.8 to 4.6" [7 to 14 cm] long, glabrous, pinkish, stout, spirally arranged, cylindrical, simultaneously many flowered inflorescence with light dull pinkish to yellowish, papery, narrowly triangular, broadly lanceolate, erecet, acuminate, longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying strongly unpleasantly smelling flowers
