Common Name or Meaning The Long Leg Bulbophyllum [refers to the Diptera-like [in the Tipulidae] long sepals to the flowers]

Found in Yunnan province of China and northern Vietnam in primary broad-leaved humid evergreen forests on crystalline karstic highly eroded limestone at elevations of 1000 to 1150 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with 1 to 3 cm] between each light pale green often with a purple brown tint, narrowly ovoid to ovoid, glossy, irregularily finely greeoved and wrinkled pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical erect, rigid, coriaceous, narrowly ovate, adaxially finely rugose, dark green, prominently conduplicate, abaxially smooth, light pale green, speckled with white, notched or slightly bilobed apically, shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a basal, peduncle rigid, filiform, 1.6 to 2.4" [4 to 6 cm] long, slightly curved to almost straight, yellowish to dull brownish purple, with 1 to 3, sterile, whitish, scarious, distant bracts, single flowered inflorescence with scarious, whitish to light pale yellowish pink, narrowly ovate, obtuse, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying widely opening, almost odorless flowers
