Found in Fujian province of China at the edge of evergreen broad-leaved forest on steep rocks at elevations around 200 meters as a hot growing epiphyte or lithophyte with 1 to 1.4" [2.5 to 3.5 cm] between each ovoid, 5 ribbed pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, oblong to narrowly elliptic, thickly leathery, apex obtuse and retuse, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a basal, peduncle provided with 2 sheaths, 1.2 to 1.6" [3 to 4 cm] long, 2 flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, apex acute, shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
"This new species is similar to B. pingtungense Ying & Chen, from which it differs by its light green to greyish-brown flower; dorsal sepal is ovate-oblong, and its margin is densely long purple ciliate; scape is 1.2 to 1.6" [3 to 4 cm ]in length and the lateral sepals are narrowly elliptic."
