Found in Grampians or Mountain areas, from New South Wales to Victoria, Tasmania and New Zealand at elevations of 400 to 1500 meters in montane and subalpine snowgum woodlands as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial orchid with a thick, fleshy, narrowly linear, sometimes red leaf that blooms in the spring in Australia on an erect, often reddish, to 12" [30 cm] tall, 1 to 4 flowered inflorescence with slightly musky scented flowers
