Found in Borneo, Java, Sumatra, Lesser Sunda Islands and New Guinea usually in primary forests at elevations of 700 to 2900 meters as a medium sized, warm to cold growing terrestrial with close set pseudobulbs carrying 3 to 4, plicate, dark green, shiny, lanceolate, acuminate, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late spring through early winter on an axillary, 40" to [1 meter] long, shortly pubescent, many flowered inflorescence with recurved, linear, acute floral bracts
