Found mainly in western Victoria, in the Grampians area, in open forests and woodland with sparse understory at elevations of 250 to 350 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial orchid with a single, pilose, narrow, obtuse leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, to 8" [20 cm] tall, single flowered inflorescence
