Common Name The Golden Flowered Calanthe
Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]
Found in Malaysia, Sumatra and Borneo in montane forests at elevations around 1600 to 2000 meters as a medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with a rhizome giving rise to pseudobulbs with 1" between each, and carrying 3 to 5, lanceolate, long-acuminate, glabrous, gradually narrowing below into the 4 to 12" [10 to 30 cm] long, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter and spring on an erect, peduncle to 22" [55 cm] long, rachis to 2" [5 cm] long, 24" [60 cm] long overall, densely many flowered inflorescence with deciduous, lanceolate, gradually acuminate floral bracts.
