Found in South Australia and southwestern Western Australia in coastal areas in scrub and mallee or woodland in well drained sand or loam at elevations around 5 to 50 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single, linear, pubescent leaf that blooms in the winter through early spring on an erect, 2.4 to 6" [6 to 15 cm] long, 1 to 2 flowered inflorescence
