Found in penninsular Malaysia and northern Sumatra in montane forests at elevations around 600 to 1700 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with a short rhizome giving rise to clustered pseudobulbs carrying 4, narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, 5 main nerved beneath, gradually narrowing below into the 8" [20 cm] long, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late fall to early winter on an erect, peduncle to 6.8 to 7.6" [17 to 19 cm] long, few, tubular acute sheaths, rachis to 2.4 to 3.2" [6 to 8 cm] long, angular, glabrous, 10" [25 cm] long overall, densely many flowered inflorescence with deciduous, lanceolate, acute to acuminate floral bracts.
