Found in south western Western Australia in forests and woodlands on stream-banks and swamps at elevations up to 250 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with an erect, pilose stem carrying a single large, linear, red spotted, green, acute leaf that blooms in the late spring and early summer on an erect, 10 to 18" [25 to 45 cm] long, 1 to 2 flowered, pilose inflorescence.
