Common Name The Double-Shaped Caladenia - The Early Caladenia - Spicy Caps

Flower Size 1 1/4" [3 cm]

Found in Victoria Australia at elevations of 400 to 900 meters in woodlands and open forests on shallow, gravelly sand and clay loams as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial orchid with a single, linear leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, 6" to 12" [15 to 30 cm] long, one to 4 flowered inflorescence carrying spicey fragrant flowers

Many references cite Caladenia praecox as a synonym but I have left it and its synonyms separate pending new references
