Common Name The Dulongjiang Valley Calanthe [A Valley in Yunnan China]

Flower Size 1.2" [3 cm]

Found in southwestern Yunnan province of China in mixed montane forests at elevations of 1900 to 2300 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with subovoid pseudobulbs enveloped by sheaths and carrying 3, subbasal, well developed at blooming, elliptic to obovate-elliptic, acute to acuminate, glabrous, attenuate below into sheath-like, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on an axillary, peduncle densely pubescent, to 8.8" [22 cm] long, rachis to 6.4" [16 cm] long, densely pubescent, loosely 20 to 25 flowered inflorescence with 2 to 3 sheathing bracts and persistent, lanceolate, pubescent abaxially, white floral bracts.
