Found in Gansu, Guizhou, Sichuan provinces of China in damp places in forests at elevations of 1300 to 1700 meters as a medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with small pseudobulbs enveloped partially by sheaths and carrying 4 to 5, plicate, narrowly oblong, acute, not deciduous, gradually narrowing into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer on an axillary, densely puberulous, rachis to 8" [20 cm] long, overall to 26" [to 65 cm] long, laxly many flowered inflorescence with persistent, narrowly lanceolate, glabrous, acute floral bracts
