Found in southeastern Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania at elevations of 5 to 200 meters in open forests in soils varying from sandy to clayey as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial orchid with a single, narrow, hairy leaf that blooms in the late winter and spring on a basal, erect, 18" [45 cm] long inflorescence with 1 to 4 flowers.
