Common Name or Meaning The Split Calanthe [refers to the lip]

Found in Papua New Guinea at elevations of 1525 to 1830 meters as a medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with linear-elliptic, acute, gradually narrowing below into the elongate petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, peduncle to 26" [65 cm] long, rachis to 6" [15 cm] long, overall 32" [80 cm] long, to 50 flowered inflorescence with persistent, linear-lanceolate, acute floral bracts.
