Common Name The Fugong Calanthe [A Town in western Yunnan China] - In China Fu gong xia ji lan

Flower Size 1.6" [4 cm]

Found in western Yunnan province of China in montane evergreen forests at elevations of 2400 to 3000 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with conic pseudobulbs carrying 3 to 4, not well developed at blooming, not deciduous, plicate, elliptic-lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, acuminate, glabrous, margins slightly undulate, gradually narrowing into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the later spring on a terminal, erect finely puberulent, rachis to 12" [30 cm] long, overall to 20" [to 50 cm] long, to 20 flowered inflorescence with persistent, membraneous, lanceolate, glabrous, acute floral bracts
