Found in mainly in the Grampians area, western Victoria, at elevations of 200 to 300 meters in drier forests with sparse understory on slopes and ridges as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial orchid with a single, narrow, linear, pilose leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, to 10" [ to 25 cm] tall, 1 to 2 flowered inflorescence
