Found in Papua New Guinea in montane forests in undergrowth on streambanks at elevations around 900 meters as a large sized, warm growing terrestrial with 3, suberect, narrowly elliptic-lanceolate, dark green above, paler beneath, gradually narrowing below into the slender petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, peduncle glabrous, with a few sterile, acuminate, spreading suberect sheathing bracts, 24 to to 30" [60 to 75 cm] long, overall to 32" [to 80 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with spreading to upcurved, narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, pubescent floral bracts.
