Found in Australia and widespread throughout Victoria, except Mallee and Wimmera as well as Tasmania in areas with well-drained soils in open forest and woodland extending into highland and montane zones at elevations of sea level to 500 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single, leaf that blooms in the late winter through summer on an erect, 18" [45cm] long, 1 to 6 flowered inflorescence with fragrant flowers
