Found in Sichuan and Hubei provinces of China in evergreen broadleaved montane forests at elevations of 1600 to 2100 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with conical pseudobulbs enveloped by leaf sheaths and carrying 2 to 3, arising after flowering, elliptic to obovate-lanceolate, densely pubescent beneath leaves that blooms in the spring on an axillary, erect, 17.6" [to 44 cm] long, densely pubescent, racemose, several flowered inflorescence
