Common Name The Completely White Calanthe - In Samoa - Okeki

Found in the Bismark Archipelago, Solomon Islands, Santa Cruz Islands, Wallis & Futna, Tonga, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Fiji and Samoa in mossy rainforests at elevations of 260 to 1200 meters as a large sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with hidden pseudobulbs carrying plicate, distichous, lanceolate, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on a lateral from the base of the pseudobulb, erect, 16" [to 40 cm] long, densely to subdensely many flowered inflorescence with deciduous, white bracts enveloping the peduncle.
