Common Name The Hyacinth-Like Calanthe
Flower Size 3/4" [1.7 to 1.8 cm]
Found in central and southern Sulawesi in primary lowlands and disturbed forests between bushes at elevations of 30 to 700 meters as a large sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with small, hidden pseudobulbs carrying several, folded, plicate, linear, acuminate, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late fall and early winter on an erect, terminal, peduncle terete, glabrous, to 14" [35 cm] long, rachis to 4.8" [12 cm] long, overall to to 20" [50 cm] long, successively to 12, densely many flowered inflorescence
