Found in southeastern Tibet and Yunnan provinces of China in forests at elevations of 2200 to 2300 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with conic, small pseudobulbs enveloped by leaf sheaths and carrying 2 to 3, well developed and speading at blooming, not deciduous, narrowly elliptic, 5 veined, acute apically, narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring through summer on 1 to 2, erect, terminal, rachis 4.8" [12 cm] long, densely puberulent, 12 to 20" [30 to 50 cm] long, laxy 2 to 10 flowered inflorescence with persistent, lanceolate, glabrous floral bracts
