Found in central and southeastern New Caledonia on arid ridges and crests at elevations of 400 to 1200 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with a small tuber givig rise to an erect stem carrying a single, linear, basally clasping leaf and 4 to5 bract like smaller above leavfes that blooms in the winter and spring on an erect, 2.4 to 4" [6 to 10 cm] long, 3 to 7 flowered inflorescence.
