Found in Victoria and Tasmania in coastal scrub and in heathy forests at elevations of sealevel to 50 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a thin, linear, hairy, basally red leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, 4.8 to 9.6" [12 to 24 cm] long, 1 to 2 flowered inflorescence.
