Found in Chongqing and Guizhou provinces of China in forests at eleations around 1800 meters as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial with 3 basal, not deciduous, oval to elliptic glabrous, subacute apically, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, axillary, provided with 1 to 2 bract-like sheaths, puberrulent, 10 to 12" [25 to 30 cm] long, rachis laxly 4 to 6 flowered inflorescence with persistent, ovate, acuminate floral bracts
