Found in southwestern Yunnan China and Thailand, in mixed forests at elevations of 2400 to 2600 meters as a small medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with annually deciduous , cylindrical pseudobulbs enveloped by leaf sheaths and carrying leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, peduncle to 16" [40 cm] long, rachis to 4.8" [12 cm] long, 12 to 15 flowered inflorescence with persistent, broadly ovate, longer than the ovary floral bracts.
