Found in Papua New Guinea in humus within montane forests at elevations around 1000 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with a very short rhizome giving rise to stems carrying 7 to 9, erect spreading, linear, acuminate, lacking a distinct petiolate base leaves that blooms in the early winter on a erect, terete, glabrous, peduncle few bracted, to 10" [25 cm] long, rachis to 2" [5 cm] long, caudate, to 12" [30 cm] long overall, laxly many flowered inflorescence.
Schlechter states that the flowers are mainly snow white with pale yellow to greenish side lobes to the lip.
